Egypt and Algeria's "hopeless" World Cup replay petitions not finished yet
Yesterday’s announcement that a FIFA tripartite committee has been installed to examine a complaint lodged by the Egyptian Football Association ('EFA') has given surprising fresh hope to their request for a replay of their final World Cup qualifying match.
The replay request is ultimately expected to be dismissed because of the shaky legal grounds that exist for any bid to overturn a result and request a match replay.
A similar request from the Algerian team is also being investigated by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee and is set to be considered this Thursday, according to a statement released by the Algerian Football Federation ('FAF').
