No appeal yet for Blessing Okagbare after 10-year ban in systematic doping scheme
The Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare has yet to appeal her 10-year doping suspension, despite the time limit to do so expiring this week. The decision to ban her was based on a proportional response to her "egregious" and "aggravating" conduct, as revealed in the recently published full decision of the World Athletics Disciplinary Tribunal ('decision').
In October last year, Ms Okagbare, a medallist from the 2008 Olympics, was charged by the Athletics Integrity Unit ('AIU') for breaches of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules ('Rules').
