Shayna Jack Award, details of 'close call' released
Shayna Jack avoided her doping suspension from being prolonged until 2023 in a "close call made with considerable hesitation", it has been revealed in the much anticipated full Award, published by the Court of Arbitration for Sport ('CAS') Appeal Panel.
As reported on 17 September, the CAS had announced the outcome of the unsuccessful appeal by the World Anti-Doping Agency ('WADA') and Sports Integrity Australia ('SIA') over Ms Jack's two-year period of ineligibility for an anti-doping violation alleged to have occurred prior to the 2019 Swimming World Championships. The detailed and at times theoretical 40-page Award was released over the weekend and is likely to be keenly reviewed within the industry.
